In a surprising move, Bravely Default II is releasing on Steam pretty soon. Square-Enix dropped a surprise trailer for the PC port, six months after the original release on the Nintendo Switch. The Steam port of Bravely Default II will be out on September 2, 2021. What makes this even more surprising is that the previous titles in the series aren’t available on Steam’s platform. So this could certainly open the doors for Bravely Default and Bravely Second: End Layer to head to PC as well.

We reviewed Bravely Default II around the time of its original Nintendo Switch release. Despite the game feeling overly-familiar to the many JRPGs before it, this is still a worthy addition to any JRPG enthusiast’s collection. If you don’t own a Nintendo Switch, and you’ve had your eye on the Bravely series, this is a fine place to start. Even though the II in the title suggests a sequel, it is a very loose sequel, featuring a brand new cast of characters and a new story. Newcomers can jump right into the game without feeling lost. You can find Bravely Default II on the Steam store for 10% off ($53.99 USD) until September 13. After the sale ends, the game will be back to full retail price at $59.99 USD.

Bravely Default II is available for the Nintendo Switch, and soon to be on Steam.
