0Accompanying CD Projekt Red CEO Marcin Iwiński’s apology for Cyberpunk 2077‘s abysmal launch on last-gen consoles was the promise of a major patch to come within ten days. Well, CDPR lived up to its word this week — and with a day to spare. The first major update for the game, Patch 1.1, is now available on PC, consoles, and Stadia.
The patch addresses a wide range of issues, with a particular focus on stability. The game’s memory usage has been optimized and various crash fixes implemented. A number of the buggy and broken quests have also been fixed.
Players should also see some fixes specific to their platform. For example, PS4 and PS5 players can expect to see “performance optimization [for] crowds,” while Xbox One, One X, and One S owners are in line for “improved memory usage.”
PC gamers should be thrilled to know that achievements can now be unlocked even if you’re playing with Steam in offline mode, and some startup crashes have also been fixed. Those on Stadia, meanwhile, can look forward to fewer corrupted weapons textures and some settings tweaks.

Focusing on fixing the game first has meant that the game’s free DLCs have been delayed. However, the company is still planning on eventually releasing them sometime this year, while the free, next-gen upgrades for the Xbox Series S|X and PS5 should be available sometime in the second half of the year.
