We’ve got Contend Gaming’s very own Iskander Ben Amor cruising a winter landscape in Forza Horizon’s legendary 2001 Audi RS4 Avant. The 2001 Audi RS 4 Avant is an AWD wagon by Audi featured in the Duracell Car Pack for Forza Horizon 2 and as standard in all subsequent titles except for Forza Horizon 3.
The RS 4 Avant takes the notion of a wagon being some sort of sedate family transporter and tosses it right out the window. It might be surprising to hear but, in its time, this was the most powerful production car Audi ever built, with a 375-hp twin-turbo V6. This isn’t just some monster they released to scare grocery-getters; the RS 4 Avant is a true sports car despite its ample room in the rear. Bespoke body panels surround oversize tires, enlarged brake rotors sit behind every wheel, and the suspension is lively and responsive. This speedy wagon is ready for a trip to grandmother’s house; just make sure the road over the hills and through the woods has plenty of twists and turns to enjoy.
Designed as the successor to the 1995 RS 2 Avant, the RS 4 Avant featured in Forza as a station wagon solely developed by Audi’s subsidiary quattro GmbH. It continued to utilize an all-wheel drive system that was now powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine. The RS 4 Avant was produced from 1999 to 2001 but continued to be unavailable for the North American market. A successor was released five years after its end of production.
