0The Epic Games Store is now offering Nioh: The Complete Edition for free. We’ve seen various free titles on the platform over the past couple of years. Now Nioh has its turn in the spotlight. Set during the war-torn Sengoku Era in Japan, you play as William, an Irish warrior based on a historical figure. Loaded with intense and responsive real-time combat inspired by Ninja Gaiden, and an addictive loot system reminiscent of the Diablo games, you fight against brutal demons across Japan. Unlocking new weapons and magic options opens up several unique fighting styles, giving you unlimited ways to conquer the game’s hardcore difficulty.
The Complete Edition contains the first Nioh game in its entirety, including the three story expansions: Dragon of the North, Defiant Honor, and Bloodshed’s End. You can play a majority of the story segments co-op online with a friend or through matchmaking, or brave through the maps on your own.
Team Ninja, the dev team behind Nioh, also made another announcement today. The Nioh franchise has sold over six million copies worldwide now, including the first Nioh, Nioh: The Complete Edition, and Nioh 2. Their announcement includes links to a special wallpaper for PC and mobile devices to celebrate the occasion.
After originally releasing as a PlayStation 4 exclusive in 2017, the first Nioh was a great success for Team Ninja. Future releases on PC came shortly after, as well as Nioh 2, which improves on the first game in nearly every way. Nioh 2 contains more of a variety with enemy demons, a custom character creator, and even more devastating ways to destroy everything in your path.
