Naughty Dog, developer of The Last of Us Part II, shared some updates for the game on the official PlayStation blog. After receiving feedback on The Last of Us Part II, the developers have released a patch with one of the community’s most requested features. Patch 1.08 for the PlayStation 5 will bring an enhanced framerate, boosting the game from 30 FPS to a targeted 60 FPS. Anyone who owns The Last of Us Part II for PlayStation 4 can play the game on PlayStation 5 through backward compatibility, now with enhanced performance.

After installing patch 1.08, players can change the framerate in their game’s settings. The Display option will allow you to switch between 30 FPS and 60 FPS. Naughty Dog plans on rolling out additional enhancements for the current-gen, hoping to entice more owners of The Last of Us Part II on PlayStation 4 to make the jump to PlayStation 5. Despite ongoing stock shortages with the PlayStation 5, those lucky enough to own the console can look forward to the improved FPS, along with the added bonuses of quicker loading times and a boosted resolution for their screens.

Since launching exclusively for the PlayStation 4 in June 2020, The Last of Us Part II has earned a number of industry accolades and awards, showcased in the video released by Sony.
