We’re getting a few new titles on Xbox Game Pass this month. Final Fantasy XIII is now on the service. Originally releasing in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Final Fantasy XIII was the first Final Fantasy game to appear on an Xbox console, featuring faster-paced turn-based battles than previous games in the series at the time. Lightning’s adventure across the utopian world of Cocoon and the primeval world of Gran Pulse met with mixed reception at the time of release. But the game was still successful enough to earn two spin-offs, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. There’s no word about whether we can expect the two sequels to Lightning’s journey on Xbox Game Pass.

In addition to Final Fantasy XIII, a number of other games are heading to the service.

  • Craftopia is now live, where you craft your way across a small island with infinite resources, going wherever you want, whenever you want.
  • Signs of the Sojourner is a story-driven card game where your deck shapes the relationships you form. Surgeon Simulator 2 is a solo or three-player co-op experience where you have to get Bob back into shape, tinkering through community-created levels or creating your own. This is currently live as of September 2.
  • Crown Trick pits you within the Nightmare Realm, where you guide the main character through dangerous mazes, dodging traps along the way. Carefully plan your route forward with skills, weapons, and more starting on September 7.
  • Nuclear Throne thrusts you into a post-apocalyptic wasteland, shooting and fighting with all the weapons you manage to find. This top-down roguelike will be live on September 9.
  • The Artful Escape is a psychedelic adventure across multiple dimensions, where you live in the shoes of a teenage musical genius, live on Xbox Game Pass on September 9.
  • Breathedge is a mash-up of dark comedy, Retrofuturism, and Soviet-era visuals, all mixed together as a new take on the survival genre, where the Man is just trying to get his grandfather’s ashes to a galactic funeral amidst a host of other drama and conspiracies. This one will also be available starting on September 9.

Xbox Game Pass will also see new DLC and game updates. The Spiritfarer Free Beverly Update and State of Decay: Juggernaut Edition Homecoming Update are both now live. The Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update VI will be out on September 7. Fallout 76’s Fallout Worlds update will be out on September 8. Lastly, you can pre-install Halo Infinite now as long as you’re an Xbox Game Pass member.

Lastly, these games are leaving the service this month. Red Dead Online will be heading out on September 13. On September 15, Company of Heroes 2, Disgaea 4, Forza Motorsport 7, Hotshot Racing, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics, and Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales are all leaving on September 15. If you haven’t picked them up yet, be sure to play through them before they disappear.
