Leave it to Elon to make a luxury car that saves the planet, looks great, and lets you play videos games. Yes, you read that right: the revamped Tesla Model S will redefine in-car entertainment with a built-in GPU that boasts 10 teraflops of processing power.
That puts the car within spitting distance of the PS5’s 10.28 TFlops and a little less than the Xbox Series X’s 12 TFlops. It’s also more than twice the 4.4 TFlops the Xbox Series S can output, making the car a truly viable console replacement. If you want an $80,000 gaming console, that is.
The Model S refresh’s marketing materials take full advantage of that unique perk, with CD Projekt Red’s Witcher 3 proudly displayed on the 17-inch main screen. And in case you’re wondering, yes, the car can apparently also run CDPR’s newest game:
It can play Cyberpunk
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) January 28, 2021
The tech billionaire followed up by saying that “the esthetics of Cyberpunk are incredible btw. The interior design is 👌.” And as you might have guessed, just that bit of praise boosted CDPR’s stock price by 19%, the highest it’s been in more than five years, despite the ongoing controversy over the game’s performance on last-gen consoles. Maybe he should have been named Midas instead…
